Our second review from the 2024 Diageo Special Release series is this 27 year old from Inchgower, a Speyside … A distillery that seems to rarely cross my desk and indeed is not bottled as frequently as soon due to its use in Bells and also elements of the Johnnie Walker range. The Watt Whisky expression has been matured in an ex-bourbon hogshead for 13 years. 297 bottles have been produced at an ABV of 56%.

WebI totally feel you on this one, Inchgower is a hard distillery to nail down a good bottling from; as they age out they tend to get very candy and very floral notes in them which is off putting in a different direction. Thanks. Yes, cask # 801386 here. It’s, ok, but just too bitter. Maybe some people like that but doesn’t work for me. Wait, what? It’s good and if you can snag one at an auction for a price you can live with it’s a fun whisky to taste and share with friends. Though definitely not something to go out of your way for.
